These changes are anticipated to take effect during the week of Nov. 16, pending final approval of the construction plan for the expansion of The Grounds. We’ll update this page as plans are confirmed.

Getting to and from the building

Shuttle
A free shuttle will run on weekdays between a covered stop in the Red and Gold lots and the UCC Main Entrance. A round trip takes about eight minutes. Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but from 5-7 p.m., the shuttle will only take passengers from the UCC to the parking lot, not from the lot to the UCC.

Golf Cart
A six-passenger golf cart will run between the Red lot and Lobby A, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A round trip takes about five minutes. From Lobby A, walk to Lobby B to use the elevators. The golf cart will not be used in cold, wet or other inclement weather.

Before or after shuttle hours, and on weekends
Lobby A and the Main Lobby are staffed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Before 7 a.m., after 5 p.m. and on weekends, enter through Lobby B using the exterior card reader; exit through any lobby. See the safety resources below.

Safety

Portable lighting and blue light safety cameras will be added to the Red and Gold lots and along the walking route. The UCC will continue to have on-site security 24 hours a day, with camera coverage at the building entrances. You can also download the free Wake Safe app, which includes Mobile BlueLight, Friend Walk, emergency alerts, and call box locations.

Accessible parking

Nine accessible spaces will be available: two in the UCC garage and seven on the Reynolds Boulevard side of the building. Entering the building from the garage requires an activated access card.

Building entrances

The shuttle stops at the Main Entrance, and the golf cart stops at Lobby A. Lobby A and the Main Lobby are staffed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Before 7 a.m., after 5 p.m. and on weekends, enter through Lobby B using the exterior card reader; exit through any lobby.

What’s being built

The lots employees currently use are planned as an expansion of The Grounds, which is growing into a new neighborhood next to campus, with restaurants and shops, a restored Silas Creek with a walking trail, and the 511 Deacon Building, the future home of Wake Forest teams now at the UCC.
