Transportation and Parking for New Students

Wake Forest is a compact, walkable, and bikeable campus with a robust shuttle system and car-sharing service. The majority of first-year students do not bring a car to campus.
Parking Registration
- First-year parking permits will be available online beginning August 4, 2026.
- Important: All first-year students are required to park in a designated off-campus lot. Shuttle service is provided.
- See parking policies and student parking information.
- Students with disabilities or health issues should refer to our disability services page for more information.
Wake Line Shuttles
- Wake Forest operates a series of shuttles to help students get around campus and around Winston-Salem.
- Students should download the Passio app to their smartphone to track each shuttle’s location on the various routes and see estimated times of arrival.
- On-call shuttle service is available at night.
Zipcars
- Wake Forest offers this car-sharing program as an alternative to bringing a car to campus.
- Cars are parked on campus on Gulley Drive and are available 24 hours a day. Rates include gas and insurance.
Re-Cycle Bike Share Program
- No room in the car for your bike? No worries. Use our bike share program to borrow a bike for the semester or the year.
- Due to limited supply, students must apply to get a bike through the program at the start of the Fall semester. Those living off campus or demonstrating financial need will be prioritized.
Airport Shuttle Services / Private Transportation
- Transportation and Parking Services offers shuttle service to Greensboro’s Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO-PTI) and Charlotte’s Douglas International Airport (CLT) during designated break times throughout the school year.
- Students traveling via Raleigh International Airport (RDU), or who need to travel outside the posted shuttle schedule to Greensboro or Charlotte, can contact Black Tie Transportation (a private car service used by many Wake Forest students), or procure their own transportation.
