Below is important parking information for students returning early or from abroad from Winter Break.

RUSH Parking and Early Arrival

Parking rules and regulations will be in effect during Winter Break.

Students with an off-campus permit can park on-campus in general lots through Sunday, January 8th. All vehicles must be in the correct parking locations by Monday, January 9th at 8:00 a.m.

  • Vehicles are required to be registered with the Transportation and Parking Office by Monday, January 9th. Vehicle registration will be available on the WFU Parking Portal Website beginning Tuesday, January 3rd at 9:00 a.m.
  • Refer to the Transportation and Parking website for more information regarding students returning from abroad, as the process for ordering permits is explained.
  • After registering your vehicle, permits can be picked up immediately in the Transportation and Parking Office, which is located in Alumni Hall. Lobby hours are Mon. – Thurs. 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Students arriving early for Rush must park in General Lots, as faculty and staff will have returned to campus from break and will be utilizing the faculty/staff parking lots.
  • To unload a vehicle, you can park in parking lots nearest your dorm on campus long enough to unload. A time limit of 1 hour will be authorized to load/unload on January 2nd and 3rd. You must be actively unloading and parked in a legal parking space with flashers on. Once unloading is complete, vehicles must be relocated to a general lot. Please wait to unpack after relocating your vehicles so others have the opportunity to unload close to the buildings. Vehicles can stay in the general lots until Monday, January 9 at 8:00 a.m.
  • Parking in fire lanes, handicapped spaces, reserved spaces (Carpool, Service Vehicle Only) or parking in roadways is prohibited and will be enforced.

Shuttles

  • Shuttles will begin operating to the First Year Parking Lot lots on Sunday, January 8th at 3 p.m. All shuttles will resume their regular routes Monday, January 9th. Refer to the Winter Break shuttle schedules located on the Transportation and Parking website.
  • For more information regarding parking, shuttle schedules, vehicle registration, etc., please visit the Transportation and Parking website.

Your WFUID and your vehicle registration are required to pick up your permits.
