Resident Students: 

  • Resident upperclassmen that have a registered vehicle and are not driving home for the break should leave vehicles parked in Lots R1, R2, or Q.

Sophomore Students:

  • Sophomore students can relocate vehicles to campus after 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 9th, and park in lots R1, R2, or Q. If a vehicle needs to be relocated to campus prior to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 9th, please email Transportation and Parking Services at parking@wfu.edu. Do not bring your vehicle on campus to park for break until you are physically leaving campus.
  • Vehicles must be relocated back to the sophomore student lot by Monday, January 9th at 8:00 a.m.

First-Year Students:

  • First-year students leaving their vehicles during winter break can relocate vehicles from parking lot Z5 to the Reynolda Campus and park in Lot J. Vehicles can begin to be relocated to campus on Friday, December 9 after 4:00 p.m. Do not bring your vehicle on campus to park for break until you are physically leaving campus. If you need to relocate your vehicle to campus prior to Friday, December 9, please email Transportation and Parking Services at parking@wfu.edu
  • Vehicles must be relocated back to Lot Z5 by Monday, January 9th at 8:00 a.m. 

First-Year Transportation Services

  • Shuttle service to/from the first-year student parking lot and campus will operate on a regular schedule until Friday, December 9th at 9:00 p.m. 
  • Shuttle service to/from campus and the first-year student lot will resume on Sunday, January 8th at 3:00 p.m. 

Sophomore Transportation Services

  • Shuttle service to the sophomore parking lot & first-year student lot will continue to operate through Friday, December 9th until 9:00 p.m. 
  • Gray Line Shuttle service will resume Monday, January 9th at 7:00 a.m.

Off-Campus Students:

  • If you do not live in WFU off-campus housing and desire to leave your vehicle on campus during winter break, contact Transportation and Parking Services with the vehicle and your contact information at parking@wfu.edu and only park in general parking lots. 
  • Beginning Friday, December 9th at 4:00 p.m., all commuter students (including students who ride the Gold and Black Lines) that have a vehicle, registered or not registered with Transportation and Parking Services, that will be frequenting campus to work, study, exams, etc., during the winter break, can park their vehicle in general lots for the duration of time needed to do so. (Including Law and MBA students who are completing final exams) Do not park in Faculty/Staff lots, visitor or reserved spaces. This on-campus parking exception will be valid through Monday, January 9th at 8:00 a.m., at which time, vehicles must be parked in the correct parking location based on the permit type.
  • The Black and Gold Lines will operate through Friday, December 9,th and resume normal schedules Monday, January 9. Students residing in apartment complexes that are served by the Gold or Black Line as well as Deacon Station that need a ride to/from campus during the week of Dec. 12th -16th can request a ride between 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. by calling 336-283-1091 for a ride. 
  • Students that purchase a permit and will be going abroad in the spring, or graduating in December, must return the permit by December 16th to receive a partial refund (1/2 the purchase price).

Tips for loading your vehicle to go home: 

  • To expedite the loading process, packing your personal items prior to moving your vehicle to your Resident Hall to load will save time.
  • Using headlights and emergency flashers while parked will indicate you are actively loading your vehicle.
  • Special-use parking spaces, such as fire lanes, and handicapped or reserved spaces should be avoided to ensure they are available for their designated purpose.
  • Vehicles with off-campus permits and vehicles parked in faculty/staff lots will be given 1- hour to load your vehicle. If there is no activity around the vehicle after 1-hour, the vehicle is subject to being cited.
